Mizuno – the Fastest Running Bird in Sportswear Industry
There is a kind of bird which doesn’t like flying but loves running a lot. The name of this kind of bird is Mikipasili. There is a company which uses the figure of this bird as its trademark. It’s Mizuno, one of the world’s biggest sponsors of Olympic Games qualified by International Olympic Committee. Trying to be the fastest running bird in sportswear industry, Mizuno tired its best since the trademark was first registered in 1983.
The Mizuno brothers founded their company in Osaka, Japan in 1906, and the company was named by Rihachi Mizuno using his family name—Mizuno. In 2006, the company celebrated its 100 year anniversary. After one century’s hard working, Mizuno has now become a global corporation which makes a wide variety of sports equipment and sportswear, for golf, tennis, baseball, volleyball, football, running, rugby, skiing, cycling, judo, table tennis and athletics. The number of products which was produced by Mizuno has reached more than 300000. You can find what you want no matter which sport you take in Mizuno’s products. Mizuno believes that the development of the products must be based on the science study. It makes sure that the safety and comfort of the product reach a high standard. Mizuno also believes that only the science is connected with human’s sensibility can the high quality of the products be achieved. While expanding the range of its products’ field, Mizuno develops new technology in order to create more trustful and functional products to meet the requirement of the market. The high quality of products is the base of Mizuno’s boom. There’s even a small story about Mizuno’s persistence on quality. It is said that in the early days, there was a batch of cloth which would fade when washed. It’s a big problem, but Mizuno marked the warning of this characteristic on the cloth. Mizuno is also a leading manufacturer of golf clubs and accessories. Mizuno is famous for the Grain Flow Forged irons which have been and continue to be used by many of the world’s top professional golfers. You must know Tiger Woods; he is a member of the Mizuno golf clubs while he was in college and continued to use them after he turned professional in 1996. In 1982, Mizuno began to sell the first golf cue using a carbon head. In 1990, Mizuno developed Mizuno PRO Ti-110/120, the first cue using titanium alloy, successfully. Nick Faldo, Seve Ballesteros, Tommy Nakajima are players who used Mizuno accessories, too.
Maybe Mizuno isn’t the fastest bird now, but it could and will be!
